PATRICIA LALOR VESSEL

Patricia Lalor caught our ears when she dropped the minimal yet murky electronic single 'To Cope' last year, reminding us of artists from our youth like Warpaint and Young Marbel Giants. The 14 year-old artist, whose fanbase is swiftly increasing, now follows-up with a new song called 'Vessel', and we're certainly not disappointed. Even murkier than her first single, 'Vessel' features a moody drum beat and boggy synth bass that seems to resonate from the undergrowth. Patricia's vocal is refreshingly genuine and unrefined and it remains so; even when the track grows in intensity, her voice remains calm. Regarding the single Patricia says, “‘Vessel’ is a song I wrote about how the world perceives you, about how it expects you to grow up and mould to what’s happening around you / to you. I wrote it to kind of get a better understanding of it all but it just kind of made it all more messed up”. Patricia Lalor's 'Vessel' is the perfect hit of electronic grunge that we didn't know we were pining for. -Ellie Rose-Davies
